Our up-to-the-minute program is structured to provide our students with the very latest information on the skin – and its care – and to train you how to perform the latest, most in-demand procedures and services. That is why at Florida Academy our program consists of 300 clock hours of intensive training, which upon successful completion of the program and meeting all the course requirements, students will be issued a diploma, receive their Florida license as a skin care specialist, a licensed body wrapper, certification in micro-dermabrasion and LED, and receive a certificate in Advanced Make-up Techniques.
Over the past several years, there has been a proliferation of establishments, both locally and nationally, offering skin care treatments and services. People trained to provide the specialized services of this profession are generally called Estheticians. Another indication of Skin Care’s new prominence was when the State of Florida required HMOs to allow their members five visits annually to a Dermatologist without a referral from their primary care physician.
Dermatologists devote ever-increasing portions of their practice to spa-like services and the sale of skin care products. Additionally, nearly every area cosmetic/plastic surgeon has added some type of skin care treatment regime to their surgery practice. There is indeed science coupled with art in this exciting and exploding new field.
Our school is equipped with modern equipment, including High Frequency, Galvanic and Micro-Dermabrasion machines to provide hands-on training of electronic therapy treatments, as found in the most prestigious spas, salons and medical offices.

To practice as a Facial Specialist in Florida, persons must be registered by the Department of Business & Professional Regulation, Division of Professions, Board of Cosmetology, located at Northwood Centre, 1940 North Monroe St., Tallahassee, Florida 32399. Telephone: (850) 487-1395
To transfer coursework into our program, submit transcripts for evaluation on a course basis. Tuition is adjusted for coursework accepted. Upon successful completion of our program, graduates receive a Florida State Registration without taking a State Board Examination, by simply submitting an application to the State.
